Northern NSW Football State & Representative Teams
Northern NSW Football as part of their elite ‘player development program run representative programs in the following age groups;
Girls 17 age group – Compete in July – Coffs Harbour, Football Federation Australia National Youth Championships
Girls 15 age group – Compete in July – Coffs Harbour, Football Federation Australia National Youth Championships
Girls 14 age group- Compete in April– Canberra, Football Federation Australia National Youth Championships
Boys 15 age group – Compete in October – Coffs Harbour, Football Federation Australia National Youth Championships
Boys 14 age group – Compete in October – Coffs Harbour, Football Federation Australia National Youth Championships
Boys 13 age group- Compete in April– Canberra, Football Federation Australia National Youth Championships
Boys 13 age group – Hunter Region (players representative of Newcastle Football – Hunter Football and Macquarie Football Zones), squad will participate in Newcastle in the Veto Under 13 Tournament in October in A six team tournament – 3 teams Tasmania , 1 team ACT and two teams Northern NSW
Boys 13 age group – Northern Region (players representative of Mid North Coast Football – Football Far North Coast ,North Coast Football and Northern Inland Football Zones), squad will participate in Newcastle in the Veto Under 13 Tournament in October in October in A six team tournament – 3 teams Tasmania , 1 team ACT and two teams Northern NSW
Boys 14 & 15 Development Squad – Development program for those players not selected in the State Under 14 & 15 State Teams who shall train on as a group in preparation for a tournament at a venue to be advised in September.

Talent Identification and Selection
The NNSW Football is responsible for the selection of each state team. This includes;

Football Manager

NSWIS coach
-
State team coach appointed to that age and gender
All players selected shall be identified through the following programs / tournaments:
Selection Criteria

- Technical competence – good range of techniques
- “Tactical Nous” – tactical ability in relation to Soccer

- Individual application in training and competition

- Player Selection Process
Notification: All participants in the Final selection process shall be advised, in writing, within 7 days of the final selection date, as to those who have been selected.
Enquiries: Any player that would like feedback as to why they were not selected should make contact with the Team Manager and they shall make this information available.
Participation: All players should be playing Club football at the highest level available to them.
Injury: Any Player receiving an injury MUST advise the Team Manager within 24 hours of receiving such injury.
Conduct: Players shall receive consideration on their professionalism, both at selection and during normal Club competition commitments.
Drugs: Any player testing positive to any banned substance shall not be considered for selection until a satisfactory outcome has been achieved.
Balance: Players are selected to give the team an overall balance, spreading all skills throughout the squad.
Selection: The following criteria shall be taken into account when deciding of the selection of players into the team/s.
Selection Procedures
Once players are identified through the various development programs and tournaments, players will participate in Development Camps in which the goal is to create a competitive and intense environment that players can learn and develop as well as allow coaches the chance to further select the appropriate numbers of players for the next stage of state team preparation.
Competition Preparation
The Twenty (20) selected players will continue to train as scheduled until the final team of sixteen (16) and four (4) “shadow players” will be named. Dependant on which team you are trialing for Camps will be held in April and July.

Development Policies
Player Regulations: These Player Regulations apply to all Players participating in:

State Teams
-
Selection Camps/ Training
-
Representative Tournaments
-
National Youth Championships
-
Or any other such occasions as the Board of Northern NSW Football may consider.
The following is prohibited:

Use or possession of alcohol
-
Use or possession of tobacco products
-
Use or possession of illegal drugs
-
Inappropriate behaviour
-
Inappropriate language
-
Fireworks Weapons of any description
-
Wilful destruction or abuse of property- cost of repair or replacement will be the responsibility of the player/s causing such damage.
-
Use or possession of prescription and/or non prescription drugs/medication without the knowledge of the relevant Team Manager and Trainer and shall require written confirmation from the Player’s family medical practitioner. These drugs/medication are to be surrendered, on arrival, to the relevant Team Trainer and shall be disbursed in line with the written requirements of the family medical practitioner.
Personal music systems, ipod/walkman etc are permitted for personal use only.
Players shall be of good behaviour at all times and shall endeavour to leave the area in as good, if not better, condition than when they arrived.
Players wishing to arrive or depart outside the advised hours should make their wishes known to their relevant Team Manager, prior to their arrival.
Players shall not be permitted to leave the Camp unless approved by the relevant Team Manager and with the written consent of the Player’s parent/guardian.
Player’s payments are to be made prior to their arrival, unless arrangements have been made with the Director- State Teams.
Players shall dress appropriately at all times.
Players shall observe all/any directives given by members of the Staff.
Persons visiting Players must advise the relevant Team Manager of their presence, on arrival at the camp.
Once selected as a member or stand-by member of a State Team, should a player be injured or suffer an illness they MUST notify their Team Manager within 24 hours advising:

Nature of injury or illness.

Medical attention being received.

Anticipated duration of inability.
-
A Medical Certificate from the treating medical practitioner is required.

Following such notice the player shall require a medical clearance from the treating medical practitioner clearing them to resume training/playing activities.

Once all players are in attendance, individual Team Manager/ Coach/ Trainer shall meet with the players and advise them of the procedures for the period of the camp/tournament.
