Round Two of the NSW Football Legacy Fund now open

The NSW Government has announced that Round Two of the NSW Football Legacy Fund is now open.

Earlier this year, the NSW Government announced that it will invest $6.21 million into football projects to help improve facilities and run programs to boost participation as part of the NSW Football Legacy Fund

In Round One of the NSW Football Legacy Fund, 19 northern NSW club’s grant projects were successful.

Round Two of the fund has two streams available. These include Infrastructure, with up to $625,000 available for the upgrade of construction of new community facilities, and Participation, with up to $140,000 available for programs that support increased football participation and leadership development.

The funding aims to help improve football facilities, support infrastructure, increase participation opportunities, and improve female player pathways. It will also support clubs to develop programs for football at all levels through the construction or upgrade of community facilities as well as leadership and development programs.

Northern NSW Football General Manager NSW Football Legacy, Annelise Rosnell said Round Two of funding will positively impact women’s grassroots football.

“This is a great opportunity for funding to go back into community football and significantly improve the experience of women and girls within the game,” Rosnell said.

“The community excitement is growing as we near closer to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™, which is 42 days away. This funding will help local clubs to continue the momentum and drive interest and participation in football.”

NSW Minister for Sport, Steve Kamper, is committed to ensuring everyone involved in football across the state will benefit from NSW hosting the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™.

“From girls and boys lacing up their boots for the first time to participants in elite development programs, all levels of football will benefit from the NSW Football Legacy Program,” Kamper said.

“As we move forward, we are excited to witness the positive changes that the NSW Football Legacy Fund will bring to football communities throughout the state.

“By investing in infrastructure upgrades, participation initiatives, and leadership programs, we aim to create a sustainable and inclusive football environment for generations to come.”
