Why play football?
- Football is Australia’s favourite game with more participants than any other sport
- Football is inclusive and can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of ability, age, gender, or race
- Make new friends with similar interests
- Maintain a healthy and active lifestyle in a safe and social environment
- Football has a variety of participation opportunities to suit every schedule, budget, and lifestyle
- Social and competitive opportunities from infancy through to adulthood
There has never been a better time to play football
The FIFA Women's World Cup™ made history and with the legacy continuing into 2024 it's the perfect time to get involved in the game:
- Increased exposure of women's football and female participation rates continue to rise.
- The Community State Youth Championships will create more playing opportunities for young footballers.
- There will be more opportunities to showcase talented First Nation’s participants through the NAIDOC Cup and Talented Indigenous Scholarships
- Increased opportunities to step into non-playing roles like coaching, refereeing, or volunteering through courses, resources, and the Women in Football Scholarship Program
