Raising Awareness for Mental Health

Raising awareness for mental health

Since 2020, Northern NSW Football has hosted a Mental Health Round across its premier competitions to raise awareness and help break the stigma surrounding mental health in the community.

As the largest participation sport in Australia, our football community can make a big difference in how everyday Australians speak about and understand their mental health.

We partner with various mental health organisations and provide learning activities to coincide with the Mental Health Round.

These activities offer volunteers, coaches and parents tools to identify the signs and symptoms of poor mental health and outline where they can access help. Sports psychologists and other mental health experts can also provide tangible advice for administrators, coaches, players and parents.
